Objective Summary
The objective of this topic is to develop applied research toward an innovative capability that provides resilient, jam-resistant communications and cooperative navigation for distributed Group three (3) unmanned aerial system (UAS) formations operating in Global Positioning System (GPS)-denied environments across a theater-scale formation spanning two hundred (200) to three hundred (300) nautical miles over feature-sparse terrain. The proposed free-space photonic crosslinks will simultaneously provide low probability of intercept and low probability of detection (LPI/LPD) data transport, precision time transfer, optical direction finding, and ranging.
The full objective, description, Phase I, II and III requirements and evaluation criteria are in the official topic on DSIP.
