Login.gov
Also called: Login.gov account
Login.gov is a General Services Administration sign-in service that gives the public one account, protected by multi-factor authentication, for participating federal sites such as SAM.gov, Grants.gov, DSIP, eRA Commons and Research.gov.
To create an account you need an email address, a password and a multi-factor authentication method. Options include a text or phone code, an authentication app, a PIV/CAC card, face or touch unlock, a security key, or backup codes.
Login.gov handles sign-in only and holds no information about your SAM.gov registration or status. If you already have a SAM.gov account, create your Login.gov account with the same email to keep your records.
Several SBIR/STTR systems rely on it. DSIP requires a Login.gov account linked to your DSIP account, Grants.gov applicants must have one, and eRA Commons users sign in with Login.gov or an InCommon federated account.
Research.gov accepts Login.gov only with a phishing-resistant method (face or touch unlock, or a security key). Users with financial or administrative roles must use one.
